Distributors, Amazon.com, and most other online bookstores will make your book

largest wholesale database in the United States. It will be available via
special order from any bookstore in the country. Some bookstores may even decide
to stock your book on their shelves as consumer demand justifies.
TERMS
- One-year commitment
- Setup fees $350.00 (Some packages include
fulfillment setup with no additional charge.)
- Free warehouse space (quantity of books
warehoused free vary based on publishing package). After one year, there is a modest monthly fee. (Some packages
offer additional free warehousing.)
- If possible, the toll-free phone number
should be printed in your book to encourage orders.
Most orders are shipped within 48 hours.
Retail Transaction Fee
This fee covers the cost of credit card transactions, invoicing, and payment
processing. Most of our publishing packages involve a 30% service fee or $3.00
per order (whichever is greater) for each net retail purchase. Some publishing
packages offer reduced rates for fulfillment. Call us for a specific price for
your publishing package. Shipping charges added to retail invoices are paid by
the retail customer and are retained by Selah.
- Retail sale is defined as any
purchase, whether discounted or not.
- Net sale is defined as the dollar
amount of the sale on the invoice, less all expenses, including taxes and
assessments payable with respect to freight,
shipping, and postage.
RETAIL EXAMPLE
A $10 book at retail yields a net sale of $10.00. We charge you $3.00 (the 30%
charge). Your total revenue for this type of sale is $7.00.
Distributor/Bookstore Transaction Fee
This fee covers the cost of credit card transactions, invoicing, and payment
processing. Most of our publishing packages involve a 20% service fee or $3.00
per order (whichever is greater) for orders less than $15.00 of the net
wholesale purchase. Reduced rates for fulfillment are available. Call us for a
specific price on your publishing package.
- Wholesale transactions are defined as
purchases by resellers, bookstores, or ministries that purchase for the
purpose of resale. Discounts range from 25%–60%, depending on the transaction
type.
- Net sale is defined as the dollar amount of
the sale on the invoice, less all expenses, including taxes and assessments
payable with respect to freight, shipping, and postage.
BOOKSTORE EXAMPLE
Many bookstores order small quantities. These purchases are normally sold at a
30% discount for a quantity of 4. So four $10 books sold at a 30% discount yield
a net sale of $28.00. Our fee is $5.60 (the 20% charge) to pay the marketing
consultant, the phone operators, and the personnel who operate the fulfillment
warehouse. Your total revenue is then $22.40, or $5.60 per book. In the event
that the net sale is less than $15.00, the fee is $3.00 per transaction.
DISTRIBUTOR EXAMPLE
Four $10 books sold at a 55% discount to a wholesaler/distributor yield a net
sale of $18.00. Our fee is $3.60 (the 20% charge) to pay the marketing
consultant, the phone operators, and the personnel who operate the fulfillment
warehouse. Your total revenue is then $14.40, or $3.60 per book. In the event
that the net sale is less than $15.00, the fee is $3.00 per transaction.
The Bottom Line on Fulfillment
Selah's fulfillment services are provided solely as an agent for fulfilling
orders you generate though your own publicity efforts and marketing strategies.
We do not advertise or promote your book unless those additional services have
been specifically contracted. Although we do everything we can, Selah does not
guarantee or promise the success of your book.
